Cold Weather for Christmas…

Yikes! Christmas is here and so are below-freezing temperatures! On Christmas Eve the temp was 28° and on Christmas Morning it was 24°! This was the first time in 12 years here at the Cove the temps were that low!
The Christmas Eve sunset was beautiful, with a clear sky, a crescent moon, and Venus just above the Western horizon. The wood stove was cranking and the house critters were all around the heat keeping warm. It was a beautiful Christmas Day, despite being quite cold, with the high reaching 45°.

In preparing for the cold weather we had to harvest the bananas from our tree in the backyard. They are a nice size and still very green. I will hang them in the shed and allow them to ripen over the coming weeks.
